NMIMS Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship and Family Business Management and Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Airport Tiara Will Collaborate for SheRISE: Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship
Gender inclusion and women empowerment are essential components of the ethos of NMIMS. In line with this philosophy, NMIMS Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship and Family Business Management (PDSE) has collaborated with the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Airport Tiara to present theground-breakingSheRISE Programme – a one-of-its-kind four-day workshop aimed at empowering women in entrepreneurship and leadership. The programme, scheduled from March 4th to March 7th, 2024, promises to be a comprehensive initiative designed topromote empowerment, build leaders, and pave a path for success in the professional and entrepreneurial spheres.
Approximately 250 women will participate in the SheRISE programmeover the four days, wherein they will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge across various crucial aspects, including finance, digital literacy, creativity, and communication. Through a series of interactive sessions and workshops which will teach Personal Branding, Networking, Design Thinking, and Collaborative Wealth Planning,the programme aims to provide valuable insightsfor participants to successfully handle challenges and seize opportunities in today’s competitive business sphere.
Prof. Seema Mahajan, Director of PDSE, strongly believes skills, knowledge, and education are the cornerstones of empowerment.“The SheRISE Programmerepresentsthe commitment to equip women with the resources they need to thrive personally and professionally,” she said.
Alpa Apoorva, Charter President of Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Airport Tiara, echoes this sentiment and emphasises the programme’s broader impact ofserving as a fundraiser for noble causes. In addition to empowering women, the programme will help support a school in Palghar with 750 tribal students. The proceeds from this workshop will contribute to the reconstruction and renovation of the school, empowering the children of Palghar with access to quality education and a brighter future. “As a charter president, I give priority to empowering women from all backgrounds, whether privileged or underprivileged, by providing them with financial education and enhancing their digital literacy and skills. My goal and purpose are to promote self-reliance in financial matters and digital competence to create a meaningful and lasting impact on identity,” she said.
The Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Airport Tiara is the world's largest women's organisation spanning over 100 countries, with India boasting the highest number of members. Although the club is relatively new, having been established less than a year ago, the passion of the members has driven them to complete over 125 projects across various fields, benefiting both underprivileged communities and privileged individuals. Beginning with just 35 members, the club has now grown to 65 members, all of whom contribute to its success through teamwork.
Meanwhile, the SheRISE Programmespeaks volumes about the power of collaboration and community-driven initiatives in ushering in positive change in women's empowerment.
