Government of India announces solar roof-top scheme for one crore families

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced 'Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana' under which one crore families will get rooftop solar systems. In a social media post, he said that the people of the country should have their own solar roof top system. He said that this will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but will also make India self-reliant in the energy sector.
