DRDO successfully flight tests Tejas-Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)

In an important development related to Tejas Mk1A programme, Digital Fly by Wire Flight Control Computer (DFCC) was integrated into the prototype LSP7 and was successfully flight tested on 19 February 2024. The DFCC for Tejas – Mk1A has been indigenously developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru. The digital fly by wire flight control computer features a Quadraplex Power PC based processor, high speed autonomous state machine based I/O controller, advanced computational throughput and complex on-board software conforming to DO178C Level-A security requirements. All critical flight control parameters and performance were found to be satisfactory. The first flight was piloted by Wing Commander Siddarth Singh KMJ (Retd) of the National Flight Test Centre.

Aeronautical Development Agency under the aegis of Department of Defense Research and Development and Ministry of Defense has successfully type certified Tejas-Light Combat Aircraft (LCA). The Indian Air Force already operates Tejas – Mk1A. The upgraded version of the aircraft, Tejas Mk1A, features an advanced mission computer, high performance capability digital flight control computer (DFCC Mk1A), smart multi-function display (SMFD), advanced electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, advanced self-protection jammer, electronic There are facilities like warfare suit etc.

Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh appreciated the joint teams of DRDO, IAF, ADA and Industry involved in the development and successful flight testing of this critical system for Tejas MK1A and called it a major step towards self-reliance with decreasing number of specialized imports. Told the steps.
